6. Words of encouragement on the path

To consider when there are difficulties.

"All problems are solved with devotional enthusiasm."

"If we were not fighting for Lord Caitanya, we would be in a fight for enjoyment in the world of maya, which is only a waste of time and of everything."

"The more progress you make the more subtle the tests will become, the more evident the challenge will be and the stronger your decision will have to be: yes, I want the pure path. The path of the heart, the path of light. I don’t want anything else. And this decision which will approach us again and again will help us substantially to make progress on our eternal path."

"When a devotee is initiated he becomes a member of the vaisnava family. All doors are open for him. If he sticks to the rules and does not commit any offenses against vaisnavas nothing can destroy him."

"Krishna is the God of love. Krishna teaches us that the topmost love in this world is still really nothing in comparison to his love in his world. All that exists here in this world also exists in the world of Krishna but in perfection, in its sheer pureness; therefore we should aspire to become

confidential devotees of our Lord. We devote ourselves to the divine pair of Radha and Krishna who have the topmost benedictions which we are hoping for."

"Krishna created the karma and beyond the karma He has already destined our route for the purpose of our education. Of course, Krishna is independent and He does what He likes. But generally He breaks the law of karma only when a person takes shelter in Him. That's why the crucial message is "sarva-dharman parityajya mam ekam saranam vraja aham tvam sarva-papebhyo moksayisyami ma sucah": "Give up all varieties of religiousness and just surrender unto Me; and in return I shall protect you from all sinful reactions. Therefore you have nothing to fear." This is the promise of Krishna: He will free us from karma."

"Our life is an enduring journey, and all the time we will encounter nectar and disasters. Also in our spiritual family we can see and feel that. It is part of our life, part of our karma. Only spiritual service is not karma. It is an intervention of mercy in our lives. Karma of devotional service does not exist. Devotional service is the free decision of the soul to make for the Absolute. The decision to feel appreciation, compassion and the wish to become an eternal servant of the Lord. Or in the words of Srila Sridhara Maharaja: "Loving devotional service is no labor. It develops from the longing of the soul.""

"If we take up the spiritual path we will have to confront the torments of the sinful world around us, the immature activities of our young bhakti, of other persons near us and of our karma which does not stop to bear fruits inside of us. But we must not forget: Krishna makes it that our karma manifests in tests which will be in favor to our spiritual advancement."

"Our satisfaction with our mediocrity is what stops us from completely surrendering to the lotus feet of the Lord. We always have to remain students, humble servants of the truth, because the quality of our service to Sri Krishna has no limits. An increase of the quality of our service will also increase the amount of service that there is to do. Our separated interests, doubts and fears hinder us from full surrender. But Krsna himself promises in the Bhagavad Gita that we do not have to fear, He will protect us and give us everything we need. And Krsna shows us the way to approach Him: accepting a spiritual master, rendering service unto Him and following His instructions. We cannot do it alone, we have to accept the help and guidance of a spiritual master as well as the Vaisnavas. This will give us faith to follow the spiritual path with more sincerity."
